Thursday Evening Beach Reception

Value, on your terms. We focus on three things: assurance, tax and advisory services. But we don’t think ‘off-the-shelf’ products and services are always the way to go. How we use our knowledge and experience depends on what you want to achieve. So we’ll start by getting to know you. You do the talking, we’ll do the listening. What you tell us will shape how we use our network of 160,000 people around the world – and their connections, contacts and expertise – to help you create the value you’re looking for.
The Cayman Islands practice has been established for over 40 years and specialises in the provision of assurance, tax, business advisory and financial advisory services to the offshore financial services industry.

Wells Fargo - booth 24

Keynote Speaker

The Wells Fargo Insurance Trust team is a leading provider of insurance and reinsurance related trusts. Used as a collateral alternative to letters of credit, the Wells Fargo Insurance Trust is a less expensive alternative to letters of credit, regularly saving our clients 80%-95% of their credit fees. The Wells Fargo Insurance Trust can be applied to Captive, Reinsurance, ILS, Corporate Deductible, and Surety programs. Additionally, we are excited to offer the Trust in lieu of LOCs for Captive and Deductible programs in the UK and EU.

In addition to our experience establishing and administering hundreds of trusts, our administrators have pre-negotiated the required language of the trust agreements with many of the major fronting insurance carriers, meaning that the set up time for the trust is kept to a minimum. Further, we have established safe and liquid investment options not offered by other banks. These options will maximize investment returns for the client, not require an investment manager, and not expose “non-US tax payers” to US federal withholding. Please visit www.wellsfargo.com/insurancetrust, or contact Robert Quinn at robert.g.quinn@wellsfargo.com or Mike Ramsey at michael.r.ramsey@wellsfargo.com for more information.

There is much rhetoric and increasing attention being paid in the business press regarding data and analytics.  Bill Pieroni, Marsh's Chief Operating Officer, will present research from a study of over 10,000 insurers and financial services firms on how winners are leveraging proprietary data and analytical capabilities for sustained and differentiated competitive advantage. Traditional ways of seeking advantage can be readily copied with diminishing returns.  Sustained and unique advantage lies with the ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze data in order to support efficient and effective execution.  Leading organizations are moving beyond collecting and storing data to building competitive strategies around data-driven insights. This presentation will provide a unique perspective on the required organizational context and capabilities to support leveraging data for growth, share,  and increased profit.

The Captive's Role in Making "Sorry Works" really work!

There is an increased emphasis among risk management professionals along with regulators to more fully disclose medical errors and adverse outcomes to patients.  Numerous laws exist promoting openness, often labeled “I’m Sorry” statutes.  The mainstream opinion being that apologizing for mistakes is a positive act that favorably impacts patients and providers.  However when done improperly or injudiciously, implications can be costly.  Having the captive assert a leadership role can make the difference whether the process will be a successful.*****

Electronic Discovery:  A Game  of Hide & Seek or Show & Tell

Healthcare organizations and providers continue to become more electronically connected while competing for "meaningful use" funds to support information initiatives. Electronic medical records, monitors and other medical equipment generate large amounts of patient information; some "meaningful" and some not. Now this information is being sought in litigation by a well-informed plaintiff's bar.   How well prepared is your captive to respond?

Friday Overview

8:00am - 1:00pm :
48 Person Golf Tournament - Blue Tip at The Ritz-Carlton
Sponsored by PRP Performa  www.performa.bm

Course Description

Hole 1
Medium length Par 4 with water down the right. The favorable target line is the left side of the fairway for the best angle to the green. This hole typically plays into the wind, which could add 2-3 clubs on to your second shot.

Hole 2
558 yard par 5 playing directly into the wind. Water runs down the entire right side and your drive will need to contend with the fairway bunkers on the left. The best play is to lay up to your favorite yardage for your third shot. Accuracy on your approach to the long and narrow green is a must.

Hole 3
Medium length dogleg left par 4 with water down the entire left side. The winds will typically blow your ball to the right, which is well protected by fairway bunkers.

Hole 4
205 yard par 3 over water. This hole typically plays downwind and long and left of the green is well-bunkered. Three palm trees guard the right side of the green.

Hole 5
Short par 4 with water down the left side. Your tee shot will need to favor the right side of the fairway for the best angle into this small green.

Hole 6
Short par 4 that gives golfers the best option for birdie. Errant tee shots to the right will find the fairway bunker and if you go for the green, beware of the water hazard that comes into play short and left of the green.

Hole 7
601 yard par 5 that typically plays downwind. Beware of the massive fairway bunker on the left that will catch a lot of balls from players avoiding the water down the right hand side. The two-tiered green is receptive to a bump-and-run style shot, but avoid the left side of the green and the large collection area.

Hole 8
Medium length par 4 with mangrove down the entire left side. The right side of the fairway is well-guarded with fairway bunkers.

Hole 9
Island green par 3 playing 156 yards from the Blue Tip Tees. Winds on this hole will typically be hurting and from left-to-right. Club selection will be key here as the hole location on this huge green can vary your club selection by 4 or 5 clubs.
